DENVER SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER: HOW TO STYLE YOUR SENIOR SESSION

HELLO!!  I am honestly so excited about this post.  The number one question that I get asked by my senior clients and their moms is "What do I wear for my senior session?" or "How do I style my senior session?"  It's one thing to choose individual outfits that look good in pictures...it's another, more difficult thing, to style an entire shoot so that you can display your photos in the same room together and keep a cohesive look going.  As you scroll down in this blog post, you will see four outfits that I styled on our beautiful model, Nina Bartell.  You'll also see a number of tips to keep in mind while you're planning your own session.

1. Choose a general color scheme - colors that go well together and also look great on you!

2. Choose a variety of styles.  Below is a great example of a casual look that is still fresh and interesting.  You want it to be you, but take it up a notch.  Adding great accessories can really make a difference that looks great in photos!

3. Next, choose a fun in between outfit (meaning not super casual and not super dressy).  This is a great chance to add in pieces that are a reflection of your personal style.

4. Next, pick an outfit that is more dressy.  The sky is the limit here.  You can go with something trendy like in these photos or get all glam in your prom dress.  Remember, this is your ONE chance to take senior photos, so don't be afraid to make it special!!

5. Lastly, choose an outfit that is undeniably YOU.  Nina is a dancer (and an incredible one, might I add), so we found her a great Free People dress that would look amazing with her pointe shoes.

6. Do not fear if styling just isn't in your DNA. :)  You have a couple options... 1. If you go to a department store like Nordstrom, they have personal shoppers who will help you put everything together.  This is a free of charge service.  If you would like a specific name of a personal stylist, let me know and I'll send you the contact name of someone I highly recommend.  2. I also offer styling services.  I will shop with you and help you put together a fantastic wardrobe for your senior pictures.  Don't hesitate to reach out to me should you want to learn more about what I offer!

I hope this has been helpful and seeing a full session styled has given you ideas of how you can make it your own.  As always, I'm here to help, so let me know if you have questions.

Hugs, Stacey
