Denver Senior Photographer: Natasha Wells, Denver School of the Arts, Class of 2016

Happy Friday, friends!!  Today I am so excited to have Ms. Natasha Wells as the featured senior!!  Natasha is a 2016 senior at Denver School of the Arts.  It will take you about .16 seconds of looking at her photos to see that she is a dancer.  I won't lie...I was in heaven photographing Natasha.  I would give her a pose example and she would make it look even better than I imagined.  And then you add on the fact that she's absolutely adorable, humble, kind, funny and just an all around incredible young lady and it was one of my favorite photo shoots of all time.  We had such a great time.  Natasha, you are amazing, girl.  I am so honored that you chose me to be your senior photographer and I can't wait to get to come to a performance and see you dance!!  Hugs!

Describe yourself in a tweet (140 characters or less): Dance is what made me who I am today... An athlete and an artist.

As a child, what was the first thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?:  The first thing I wanted to be was a professional dancer.  Ever since I watched the Colorado Ballet's "The Nutcracker," I have always dreamed of being the Sugarplum fairy. Since then, I have been dancing and training to become that professional dancer I truly strive to be.

What were your first words?  Do they say anything about the person you are today?:  My first word was mom.  My mom is the most important person in my life.  I am the person I am today because of her.

Who is your favorite Disney princess?  Why?:  My favorite Disney princess is Ariel because I love mermaids and I have always felt a deep connection with the ocean.  Ariel, after wanting to be someone else, realizes the most important thing is to be herself, so she wanted to be back to herself, back to the ocean.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?  With who?  Doing what?:  I would be in Thailand with my sister and exploring by going to temples, riding elephants, and visiting sanctuaries.

If you went to Hogwarts, what house would you be put in?  Why?:  Gryffindor, because they are fiery.  They are fighters and they like to stand up for themselves and others.

Finish this sentence: I may be stuck on a deserted island, but at least I have my...

What is your definition of beauty?:  Beauty is when you can see someone's true spirit within oneself.

What is the greatest board game ever invented?:  Clue

Share one last thing with us...  Dance is my passion and i have dedicated my life for the last 12 years to dance.  I'm not very outgoing but when I'm performing I'm a totally different person.  That's how I like to express myself, through movement.  After high school I plan on going to college, either in California or NYC, to become a professional dancer and further to be a part of a dance company.

Denver Senior Photographer: Emily Murphy, Evergreen High School, Class of 2016

Helloooo!  It's been a while since I've been here to blog.  I've spent the last 3 weeks out of state visiting family and friends.  It was such a wonderful break, but I'm excited to be back and connecting with all of you again.  Today's features senior is Emily Murphy, a 2016 senior at Evergreen High School!  The best way to describe Emily is to have you read her description of herself below.  I literally couldn't have put words to her any better than that.  She truly is "caring, considerate, kind, and cheerful."  She's so much fun to be around and just radiates joy from the inside out.  Emily, you are a stunning human being and I am so honored to have met you and to have had the opportunity to be your senior photographer!  I am soooooo excited for the winter portion of your Colorado session!! 

Describe yourself in a tweet (140 characters or less): I would say I am caring, considerate, kind, and cheerful.  I love to laugh and am constantly smiling.  I am a very southern soul and love country music.  However, I adore the snow as well.  I am a very family and friend based person, and do not like being alone.  I love o explore and go on adventures in this beautiful state we live in.  At first people would assume I am shy, but once they get to know me, I am really crazy.

What is your definition of beauty?: My definition of beauty is someone who is confident with themselves.  Once they see the true beauty in themselves they can bring out beauty in others.  Beauty to me is something from the soul, that shows not in appearance, but in a kind attitude.  A beautiful person is considerate and caring to those around them.

What's your best joke/pun?: I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger.  Then it hit me.

As a child, what was the first thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?: I wanted to be a cowgirl.  I always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.  I loved horses and hats.

What were your first words? Do they say anything about the person you are today?: I used to sing before I could talk.  This does say something about me as a person today because I still love to sing along to the radio and love music.

Who is your favorite Disney princess? Why?: My favorite Disney princess is Ariel.  This is because she's a mermaid, like how much cooler can you get?  She gets to live in the ocean with all the sea creatures.  She is just fantastic.

If you went to Hogwarts, what house would you be put in?  Why?: I would be in Gryffindor.  That way I could be friends with Harry, Hermione, and Ron.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?  With who?  Doing what?: I would be in Hawaii.  This is because it is absolutely the most beautiful place I have ever been.  It is the perfect combination of the greenest mountains and beaches.  I would like to travel there with my sister, Elle, so we could go paddle boarding and hike to waterfalls.

What song would give us the greatest insight into you?:  Any song by Taylor Swift.  I love all her songs and she was a huge role model to me when I was growing up.  Her songs are very true to real life and connect to me.

Share one last thing with us... I am involved with Younglife and love the people I have met through it.  I also love to watch sports like hockey and football, it is something I really enjoy to do with my family.

Denver Senior Photographer: Kathryn Adams, Golden High School, Class of 2016

Today's featured senior is Kathryn Adams from Golden High School.  Kathryn has the best sense of humor and we had such a great time on her shoot.  Kathryn, I hope you see the beauty that you are the way we see you.  You have so much to offer this world and it's so exciting to know that this is just the beginning.  I'm so honored that you chose me to be your senior photographer!! :)

Describe yourself in a tweet (140 characters or less): I have spent half my life in New Zealand, half in the US.  I love to travel and explore new places.  I'm definitely not a girly girl, I would say I'm pretty down to Earth and low maintenance. :)

What is your definition of beauty?: My definition of beauty is being comfortable and confident in who you are, no matter what you look like.

What's your best joke/pun?: What's brown and sticky?  A stick.

As a child, what was the first thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?: A veterinarian, like every other 5 year old.

What were your first words? Do they say anything about the person you are today?: My first word was hot, and yes, I would say it says a lot about who I am today. lol.

Who is your favorite Disney princess? Why?: Mulan because she is brave, selfless,  independent, and proved to China that women are just as important, worthy, and smart as men.

If you went to Hogwarts, what house would you be put in?  Why?: Slytherin, because I am witty, independent, and I have goals in life to be great.

Denver Senior Photographer: Lauren Williams, D'Evelyn High School, Class of 2016

Today's featured senior is the beautiful Lauren Williams from D'Evelyn High School.  I met Lauren for the first time last year when she came for her sister's preview session and I knew then that I was excited for the day I would get to photograph her too!  I just love this girl and her spirit...she goes after what she wants and doesn't hold back.  She is an athlete and just an all around awesome person. Denver Senior Photographer: Maddy Amann, Evergreen High School, Class of 2016

Today's featured senior is Ms. Maddy Amann from Evergreen High School.  Maddy is exactly what you expect her to be when you look at her photos...she is genuine, kind, soft, humble and just an all around wonderful person who you want to spend time with.  Maddy, I have absolutely no doubt that you will make this world a better place.  I am so excited for you and all that lies ahead.  THANK YOU for choosing me to be your senior photographer, sweet girl. 

Describe yourself in a tweet! (140 characters or less): I am someone still trying to find just exactly who I am.  I have a wide variety of interests from dance to rock climbing and from diving to track.  I'm always wanting to try new things in the attempt to experience the world around me and all that it has to offer.

What were your first words? Do they say anything about the person you are today?: 

My first word was "mom" which makes complete sense because we've always been really close and still talk to each other about everything and anything.

Share one last thing with us... My goals after high school are to attend a 4-year university and major in either business or nursing.  After college, my dream is to take a year off in order to travel around the Caribbean on a sailboat or houseboat.
