Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Destination Photo Shoot

Well...I've really done it now. I decided that this year, one of the perks of being a Stacey Kyler Senior Model was that the girls could participate in a destination photo shoot.  Seven of my models were able to attend, so we piled into two vehicles and made the 4 hour drive to the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Mosca, Colorado.

Hair, make-up, wardrobe, food, WIND, a lot of fun, and even more WIND later, we had the experience of a lifetime and images even greater than I could have dreamed up.  So why have I done it???  Where in the world are we going to go for our destination shoot next year to even come close to this???  I have no idea!!!  I have no doubt I'll come up with something, but this trip really was that incredible.

I know I have included a lot of images on this blog post, but they are just too fun that I had to share.  I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed the trip!!

This next series of three photos is fun.  First, the behind the scenes image...

Then the final product...

And finally, the reality of what the girls were dealing with to get that shot.  Did I mention it was WINDY??!?!  Haha!!!...

The girls taking a selfie. :)

LOL!!!  "What is this thing?? And what do we do with it??"

Lastly, I have to once again thank this team of ladies for being INCREDIBLE.  Absolutely none of this day could have been possible without them.  I love you all dearly and I seriously pinch myself on a regular basis because I can't believe I get to do this job with you.

Denver Senior Photographer: Your Biggest Worry Has Been Solved!

I get a lot of questions from my clients and my goal as your photographer is to not just provide you with vague answers and then send you off on your own to figure it out, but to give you solutions.  Since professional hair and make-up artists are already provided for your session, questions about that have already been eliminated.  Now, the #1 question I get is about what to wear.  Because let's be honest, your senior pictures are a big deal and you want to look GREAT.

If you follow my Instagram account @staceykylerseniors, you know that I do a Fashion Friday posts every week and you've probably learned that most clothing looks very different in photos than it does in real life.  Because of this, it's important to know how to choose photo-ready outfits that accentuate your best features!  Sound confusing and overwhelming?  It can be!

SOLUTION: I am so incredibly happy to announce to you that Tasha Green is now a personal stylist for Stacey Kyler Seniors!!  Tasha has been a stylist for over 10 years and trained in New York with a major designer.  She's amazing and you will absolutely love her!  She is now available to shop with you and help you develop your unique look.

You can now breathe a sigh of relief...your "what do I wear?" fear has just been resolved.  YES!

If you are interested in booking a shopping date with Tasha or would like to learn more details, you can contact me at stacey@staceykyler.com or give me a call at 303-453-9386.  Happy shopping!!

Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Makayla Markey Introduction

I can't believe today wraps up all of my 2015 Senior Model introductions!!  I've said it before, but I'm so blown away by the incredible young women on my team this year.  They are not only beautiful, but so smart, athletic, talented and motivated.

Today I get the honor of introducing you to Makayla, who will be a 2015 senior at Golden High School.  As you can tell from her interview answers below, Makayla is an athlete, playing both soccer and softball.  She is so much fun to be around and I've enjoyed all of our photo shoots together!!  Makayla, I can't wait for your senior session later this month!!

Q: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: I've played soccer since I was 4 and I play softball for the Colorado Outlaws (you know!)!  I have been volunteering at the Denver Zoo for the past four summers and am so grateful for the wonderful experiences that I've gained through the Zoo Crew program.

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: In college I'll study biology and psychology so that by the time I finish school I can land my first job at an animal behavioral research company that I was an intern at throughout college.  I'll travel the world studying animals and making ground-breaking discoveries.  Later, I'll settle down, marry the man of my dreams and start a family in a little mountain town.  (Oh, and I will absolutely be a PTA kinda mom.)

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: If I were an animal I think I'd want to be a Malaysian Tapir!  Mostly because they are absolutely adorable and I fell in love the first time I saw one!!

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: I would love nothing more than simply to watch the sun set with someone special and slow dance in the car headlights to a good ol' classic love song.

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: P.F. Changs, Outback Steakhouse, and any place that sells fried pickles!

Q: What has been your favorite thing about working with Stacey Kyler thus far?
A: Shooting with Stacey is always such a blast!  She never fails to be so much fun to be around!  She's always so helpful and makes the whole shoot laid back and fun!

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: In the words of Ferris Bueller, my favorite quote from my favorite movie, "Life moves pretty fast.  If you don't stop and look around for a while, you could miss it."  So make sure to enjoy the little things because sometimes the little things turn out to be the big things!

Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Kenzie Hulyk Introduction

We are nearing the end of our 2015 model introductions and I hope that you've enjoyed their interviews as much as I have!!  Be sure to check back on Monday for the final interview, and then we'll be jumping right into featured senior sessions for the remainder of the summer.

Today I am thrilled to introduce you to one of my favorite human beings. :)  Every once in a while you meet someone who has a sense of humor and you just "get them".  This girl puts my humor to shame and then sweeps it under a rug, but I get her dry, sarcastic humor and I LOVE it!!!  Kenzie, you have more talent in your pinky finger than most of us will ever have in our lifetime.  I can't wait to see what you'll do in this world to make it more creative and beautiful.

Q: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: I really enjoy spending my time singing and playing instruments.  I think that creating an ensemble of young musicians to make and play music is one of my greatest joys in life.

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: When I'm 30 I hope I'm doing something that makes me happy.  I don't know what that is yet or how I will get there but I know the journey will be amazing.

Q: Pretend you wrote a book and you have to write your biography for the back cover.  What would it say?
A: I like jokes and people but more than anything I like to make jokes with people.

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: I would be a puppy because puppies are cute and I like to be cute too sometimes.

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: My perfect date would probably be June 10th because right at the beginning of summer.

(Stacey comment....LOL!!!  Kenzie I shall now and forevermore refer to you as Gracie Lou Freebush because of that comment.) :)

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: Don't care what anyone thinks because then you just wasted your time thinking about what someone else is thinking.  Sounds dumb huh?  Don't do it.

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: 1. Los Marcelos ($3 perfect burritos).  2. Taco Bell.  3. Taco Bell.  Sorry I can't be perfect, but I eat like a king.

Q: What has been your favorite thing about working with Stacey Kyler thus far?
A: My favorite park about playing around with Stacey, I mean working, is just how much fun I have joking around with her and being able to be a part of her beautiful art that she does so well.

Kenzie is this years cover model for my 2015 Senior magazine.  Doesn't she just look like she belongs there!?!?  Love it and her so much!!!

Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Abby O'Neill Introduction

Today I have the privilege of introducing you to 2015 Senior Model, Abby O'Neill!!  Abby will be a senior at Evergreen High School and I just love her style and confidence.  We have some incredible things planned for her senior session later in June and I can't wait!!!!  Abby, you are a rock star...so beautiful, so much talent, but with such a humble confidence.  I'm so proud to have you on my Model Team this year!!

Q: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: Evergreen High School Pom Team.

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: At the age of 30 I like to imagine that I will have graduated from college and been on a professional dance team.  Maybe I'll be married with two kids, but I know I will have plenty of dogs!  I would love to live in Chicago or San Diego.

Q: Pretend you wrote a book and you have to write your biography for the back cover.  What would it say?
A: I am small and full of energy.  I have won three state championships on my dance team.  I'm extremely passionate about dance.  I am an animal lover.

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: If I were an animal I would be a lion, hands down.  Lions are the greatest animal ever.  I would love to be king of the food chain.  Plus lions are so beautiful and majestic.

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: My perfect date night would be something outside, maybe a hike or even a trip to the zoo!

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: Willow Creek, Simms Steak House, Yard House.

Q: What has been your favorite thing about working with Stacey Kyler thus far?
A: My favorite thing about working with Stacey was definitely the paint fight.  That day was so bitter cold, but it was so much fun!

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: My advice for incoming freshman girls is, be yourself.  There is a lot of styles in the world and just because no one else has a fun and funky style at school doesn't mean you can't.  My biggest regret was trying to blend in my first year of high school.  There is nothing wrong with standing out.  Own it!
