Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Gabrielle Fick Introduction

Today it is my honor to introduce you to 2015 Senior Model, Gabrielle Fick!  Gabrielle will be a senior at Golden High School.  I had so much fun with Gabrielle and her Mom at her model shoot and I can't wait for her senior session in June!!  This girl is beautiful inside and out, such a caring person while at the same time being incredibly fun and spunky.  It's such a joy to have her on the team this year!!!

Q to Gabrielle: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: I love being with my amazing friends and loving family!  I'm a people person, so I'm always happiest with my closest friends by my side!  Cliche' I know... ;)  I also love nature,so I'm always creating excuses to go outside.  But one of my favorite activities would have to be hiking, despite my fear of heights!

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: When I'm 30, I probably will have graduated from CU Boulder or some posh school in California where I got a degree in Psychology.  After, I imagine myself as a psychologist because the way the mind and people work really intrigues me.  I'm a great listener and I love helping people so doing both at the same time would honestly be pretty perfect!  I would probably end up marrying Zac Efron (who I met while studying abroad in Europe where he was shooting a movie) and we would live in Hawaii in our beach house.  I will have 2 kids.  One boy and one girl.  They will be the greatest kids ever.  I will also have many, many dogs.  Oh, and of course a pet pig named Wilfred as well as a pygmy marmoset by the name of Hercules.  I have given this a lot of thought.

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: A mouse, duh!  (Mean Girls reference)  Just kidding, I would be a dolphin.  Who wouldn't love to swim in the ocean all day long?

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: I'm definitely a hopeless romantic, so a perfect date night would probably be something like watching the stars on a summer night and talking all night long (with ice cream of course!!)  Dinner is nice, but too cliche'...I'd rather do something extraordinary!

Q: Pretend you wrote a book and you have to write your biography for the back cover.  What would it say?
A: Gabrielle -- A very clumsy and shy person who is very quiet until - BAM - one day, this timid girl turns an absolute crazy and quirky girl who loves to laugh.  Gabrielle loves with all her heart and tries to make everyone feel understood.  But watch out, once you befriend this one, she'll never let you go.

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: I pretty much love all food.  But if I had to choose, Le Central in Denver is amazing!  For a more casual place with great pizza, The Oven in Belmar is also really good!  But my all time favorite restaurant would have to be Fontenot's in Winter Park.  Their fried shrimp is pretty much heaven on a plate.  Pretty much.

Q: What has been your favorite thing about working with Stacey Kyler thus far?
A: Let me just say this straight...Stacey is AMAZING!  Absolutely every time I have worked with her has been so fun.  Stacey makes you feel truly special and beautiful.  Plus, let's just all admit it, her photography skills are INCREDIBLE!  I mean, just look at her pictures!  Very rarely do you come across a photographer who is great at what she/he does and makes the experience very enjoyable at the same time.

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: My advice to girls would be to just let go and have fun.  Stop pretending to be someone you're not just to impress people who will mean nothing to you in 5 years!  Find your real friends and stick to them!  Be who you are and don't let anyone try and change you.

Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Josie Osberg Introduction

Today I would like to introduce you to 2015 Senior Model, Josie!!  Josie will be a senior at Lakewood High School and I am so incredibly happy to have her on my model team this year!!  I met Josie when her older sister was on my model team 2 years ago.  It means the world to me when families trust me enough to allow me the honor of photographing all of their daughters.

Josie, you are amazing and beautiful and you have such a soft and giving heart.  I'm so glad we will have the chance to hang out a whole lot more this upcoming year.  Thank you for being a part of the team!!!

We did our first round of model photos back in March and WOW did we end up with a beautiful, but very, very cold day!  These girls were amazing and laughed the entire time, making the most of it.

Love this one of Anya, Josie and Kenzie huddled up together to stay warm.

Q to Josie: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: Tennis.  I also work with the special ed kids at school!

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: At the age of 30 I picture myself graduated from college, with a  family, and a stable job!  I picture myself living somewhere close to family so maybe Colorado or Minnesota.  I would love to have at least 2 kids, and adopt a down's syndrome child!

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: If I was an animal I would be a monkey!  I would be a monkey because they are just so cool!  They can hang up in the trees but then they can also walk around on land!

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: My perfect date night would be super laid back, so something like a homemade dinner with a movie!  Something comfortable and easy!

Q: Pretend you wrote a book and you have to write your biography for the back cover.  What would it say?
A: I would say that I have a genuine personality.  I love to help others.  I love to have a good time, I've very outgoing and love to have fun!

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: I don't know many restaurants in Denver, but I like all food (except for mushrooms).  I'm also not a picky eater so I will try pretty much anything.

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: The one piece of advice that I would give to incoming freshman is to stay true to who you are.  I know that it is hard going to a new school with new kids, but if you stay true to who you are you will make friends that you will remember for a lifetime.  So stick to your morals and don't fall into peer pressure!

Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Taylor Tremaine Introduction

Hello!  Happy Monday to all of you. :)  As mentioned in my previous post, I will be introducing all of my 2015 Senior Models over the next few weeks.  I can't imagine a better way to brighten a Monday than Ms. Taylor Tremaine.  Taylor will be a 2015 senior at Evergreen H.S.  This girl radiates beauty from the inside out and I can't even begin to tell you how much fun our team had working with her.

Taylor, you are a true gem.  If we can get the kind of magic like we got in these photos in a 30 minute model session, I can't fathom what your whole senior session will be like!!!!!!

Q: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: Volleyball during the fall and hiking during the summer!!  Skiing, not as much as I would like to, but I still go occasionally.  It might sound strange, but my job is one of my favorite things to attend to (a little coffee shop call Espresso Evergreen).  I love hanging out with my friends as well as my family (I have a 21 year old sister).

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: Ok, so I will graduate high school and enroll at Regis University, where I will work super hard to get my nursing degree.  In the meantime, I will be working and sky ping with my long distance boyfriend (long distance isn't preferred but I'm just mentally preparing myself just in case).  As soon as I graduate I will fly to the love of my life, get a job in the delivery room (I have reasons behind that) and live on a budget with my soon-to-be fiancĂ© for the next year.  We will decide to get married (I'm about 25 at this point) so due to the budget we will have a small church wedding in the early summer when it's not too hot and there are lots of natural flowers.  There will be a rocking dance party afterwards and who knows where we will go on our honeymoon (haven't thought that far into it).  After a couple of years of saving money we will buy a little 1 story house with blue grayish paint and white trim with a front porch to put a swing on.  Then we will have 3 babies and I will have to take a break from working to take care of them.  I will pack their lunches every day and cut out their sandwiches in the shape of hearts so they know how much I love them!  Then once they are old enough I will go back to work.  (I went past 30 just a tad...I'm about 33 at this point).

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: I would be a dog no doubt.  Have you seen how awesome a dog's love is!?!  They eat, sleep, go for runs and play!!

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: Ok, no joke I have already been on the perfect date.  He picked me up in his car and we went to get ice cream from this little shop.  We drove to a park and finished our ice cream while sitting on a bench in front of the lake while the sun went down.  Then we went to the upper level of a nearby building that had amazing views and we danced to the song Happy (it was not yet popular) and it was so lovely!!

Q: Pretend you wrote a book and you have to write your biography for the back cover.  What would it say?
A: I'm really awkward at first.  If I become overly comfortable I'm pretty quirky.  I know I can be overly controlling (haha), but I believe life and kindness is a beautiful thing!!

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: Well, being from Evergreen we are pretty secluded so I don't get out much.  I LOVE the Cheesecake Factory (everyone in my family has gone for every birthday for the last 3 years).  I have become a fan of Which Wich and I love any sushi restaurant.

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: Be kind and have respect for yourself and others.

Q: What has been your favorite part about working with Stacey Kyler thus far?
A: Ok, so my experience with Stacey and her crew has been awesome so far.  Everyone is extremely talented in everything they do as well as very genuine.  We had an absolute blast and I shed some tears due to the wind we were dealing with AND all of the laughter.  Stacey is hilarious and makes you feel extremely comfortable no matter who you are.  I'm very excited to see what else is to come in the future!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Taylor!!!!!!!  I'm so honored to have you as part of my 2015 Model Team!!!!

Denver Senior Photographer: 2015 Senior Model Anya Dushinski Introduction

There are a zillion reasons why I love my job.  I get to be creative, I set my own schedule, I get to work outside a ton, I get to talk about fashion and clothes and make-up, and I get to play a role in capturing the beauty of every senior girl I photograph.  Above all of that, however, I love my job because of the incredible girls that I get to work with and get to know.  I am constantly blown away by the quality young women who enter my life through this job of photography.

My 2015 Senior Models are such an incredible representation of what I just described.  They are amazing...smart, funny, witty, talented, confident, and beautiful girls.  I want to start introducing you to each of these models in the days ahead.

Today, please allow me the honor of introducing you to Anya, who will be a 2015 graduating senior at Golden High School.  Grab a Starbucks and sit back and be entertained by the adorableness of Anya...

Q: What do you like to spend your free time doing?
A: I spend my free time dancing on horses, and there is nothing more magical in the whole wide world.

Q: Paint me a picture of what your life will be like at age 30.
A: At age 30 I will most definitely be a mother to the two coolest kids in the history of ever and married to Prince Charming.  Our family will be completed by a few loving, selfless puppy dawgs, of course, and we will all reside in our beautiful, cozy home in the foothills (or maybe on a beach somewhere).  We'll be able to afford this dream home, thanks to my amazing discovery in the chemistry field.  (Said discovery is yet to be determined.)  Every chance we get, we will escape the limits of our own residence and travel the world!  And best of all, the four of us will live happily ever after.

Q: If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
A: I would be a dog! They love unconditionally without any hesitation, they're incredibly intelligent and skilled, and they're so freaking cute.

Q: Describe your perfect date night.
A: Hmmm... The perfect date... This is a hard one because it totally depends on who the date is with! However, I would have to say that I love a good, fun, easy hike on a really beautiful day, especially a hike that I can bring my dog on.  Then lunch and ice cream at the end. :)

Q: Pretend you wrote a book and you have to write your biography for the back cover.  What would it say?
A: Anya Dushinski.  One extraordinary individual, the nickname given to her by her grandfather from day one.  While her life may appear like that of any other teenage girl from the outside... Once let into her world, one is able to experience the overwhelming love and affection from her beautiful family, incredible opportunities she is blessed with everyday, and most importantly the magical sensation of dancing on horses.  Really and truly an EXTRA-out-of-the-ordinary-individual.

Q: What are your three favorite restaurants in the Denver area?
A: Oooooo gosh.  I could go on forever.  1. Iyowama Sushi in Littleton (because that's where I spend the most time with my family! Not really sure how to spell the name of the restaurant, we just call it "Lee's".  Whoops!)  2. Earl's in Cherry Creek (because have you been in there? It's beautiful!)
3. Basically any little hole-in-the-wall breakfast place my dad and I can find in our sweats on the weekends. :)

Q: If you could give advice to the girls who are going to be freshman in high school next year, what would it be?
A: Let it go!  Nothing is as life altering as it seems to be at the time.  Distance yourself from the problem, and you will see things infinitely clearer.  High school gets SO much better so keep on trucking.  Oh, and get good grades while it's still relatively easy.

Q: What has been your favorite part about working with Stacey Kyler thus far?
A: STACEY IS AWESOME!!  She is so much fun to work with, and makes you feel like a million bucks every interaction you have with her.  The experience is what this whole thing is about, and Stacey is nothing short of the whole package.  She truly rocks my socks off.

Denver Senior Photographer: Fashion Friday (Overalls Are Baaaaack!!)

It's Fashion Friday and sometimes I just get in the mood to do something a little out of the box and fun. :)  Kenzie, Allison and Becky are three of my rock star 2015 Senior Models and agreed to help me show you some of the many ways you can wear overalls, which are most definitely one of the hottest trends for this spring/summer!

Meet Kenzie!! This beauty will be a 2015 senior at Denver School of the Arts.  I don't know about you, but the beach is calling my name right about now.  Absolutely love how these overall shorts paired with a colorful and fun printed bandeau is the perfect look for the beach!

Introducing Becky, who will be a 2015 senior at Evergreen H.S.  Becky is rocking two of my favorite things...turquoise and overalls.  Again, we paired this with a fun printed crop top, which is also an extremely popular trend for this summer!

And finally, meet Allison!!  Allison will also be a 2015 senior at Evergreen H.S.  Personally, this is probably my favorite outfit.  I love the long skinny jean overall paired with the punk graphic tee and a colorful bandeau.  The high top heels are such a fun flare to finish this look off!

Who knew that overalls could be chic?  Coupled with a heel and fun, sparkly accessories (my favorite is gold), you can rock a night on the town.  Again, we paired this outfit with a cute crop top.

Still sticking with the overall theme, yet another big trend this year is mixing denims like you see on Becky.  Folding down your overalls will totally change up your look!

Last but certainly not least, a casual but cute dressed up overall.  This is the perfect look for going out with your girlfriends to dinner or the mall!

So there you go!  Six totally different ways to wear your overalls this spring and summer.  To find overalls similar to the ones you've seen here...

Long skinny overalls: Nordstrom BP
Jean overall shorts: Pac Sun and H&M
Turquoise overall shorts: Pac Sun

I'd love to see the outfits you put together with your overalls.  Tag @staceykylerseniors on Instagram so I can check them out!!

Denver Fashion Photographer: Disney's Frozen Inspired Fashion Photo Shoot

This entire photo shoot should be credited to my 4-year old niece, Lola. :)  She asked me to take her to see the movie Frozen and starting about 15 minutes into the movie, I couldn't think of anything besides wanting to do a photo shoot inspired by this beautiful movie and its two main characters, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.  As we drove home after the movie and Lola's precious little voice sang "Let it Go, Let it Go" at the top of her lungs it was obvious that a movie that had inspired a toddler had also inspired this woman.  I've had dreams for a very long time of shooting fashion photography, but have been scared to push my limits for the fear of failing.  It was time to let go of that fear and see what I was capable of doing.

As I was putting the shoot together, I knew that I didn't want to recreate exact duplicates of the characters.  Instead, I wanted to pull inspiration from them, but in a new and fresh way.  If Elsa and Anna lived in 2014, what would they look like?  How would they dress?  I can say with utmost certainty that I could not have done this without the genius artistic skills of Heather Baker (Make-Up by Heather B), Jade Darrough (hair stylist at Jua Salon in Denver), and Tasha Green (Stylist).  They brought my dream to life and I am so unbelievably grateful.  And then my models, I mean, for real...they were more than I could have dreamed up.  Sabrina and Tisa, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for not only being beautiful on the outside, but for being GORGEOUS on the inside.  I'm proud to showcase your beauty because I know it's so much more than skin deep.  There are little girls who will never forget getting to meet and see Queen Elsa and Princess Anna on their trip to the ice castle. :)  I also want to thank Jennifer Dean for traveling with me and assisting me the entire day as well as Tiffany Jones for allowing us to use her home in Breckenridge for hair and make-up!!

So here it is...a dream and a piece of my heart...

I've also been experimenting with some fun fashion edits.  While I'm still working on them, here is a little taste to give you an idea of where I'm heading with this style...
